Bulk and Skull 35 I said to expect a hiatus due to semester crap & while that still holds true it probably seems a (More) I said to expect a hiatus due to semester crap & while that still holds true it probably seems a lot less likely to me now that I'm a week into classes to find that the profs rely solely upon the books rather than something arcane as, say, teaching skill & that they'd rather talk about movies/sports I've never seen than the old method of "give info to students". That & they rely more heavily upon class discussion which is just 1-2 of the more viral students finishing sentences the prof ought to complete. It's so hard not to rant on & on about this, because there's just so much to say. It's not about reading; it's about speaking to expel from one's lungs like secondhand smoke. So since the only intellectual stimulation from my classes comes from my incessant spacing out to thoughts of Pokey the Penguin, Godzilla, Bunnicula, & Doctor Who, I don't need to bother working so hard for something that doesn't matter as much as they say it does, I can devote more time to things like B&S & worry slightly less. This pisses off the edus, since worrying is what they market. Preppies deny this of course, which brings us back to the PRs in their magic world where they can SKIP COLLEGE & go straight onto being INTERNATIONAL TEENAGE NINJA DIPLOMATS. The moral of the story: hide all those emo emotions that come from the real world & Jesus will make you the new savior. Bulk tells Skull to "staple his mouth shut" if he comes up with another PR idea. While dressing up in satin probably was a bad idea (laytex or other are usually better), it is flippant remarks like these that often are taken too seriously, particularly on the playground. Oft times children will mimic actual human conversation & say such remarks because it makes them feel "hip". It's also indicative of the negative reaction to further ideas on repeated memes. This's due to the anti-individualist perspective we're instilled with as consumer-bred mongrels (not a knock to capitalism which is necessary to comply with for resources) to disregard a person's ability & right to think simply cause we've heard it a before. Have I driven home the point yet that Angel Grovers have meaningless, empty lives with nothing better to do than live vicariously through whatever teen activity is going on to cope with middle age? Zed buys Rita a gift for their anniversary, whenever that is. W/ Zed for husband, no wonder Rita still has Finster make her monsters. In response Ed Wood edits a volleyball to Bulk's head. This's the ep that Frito Revulto appears uninvited to lay his eggs on Mt. Itoi. What happened to Goldar's girlfriend Scorpina? Did he eat her? Poor Finster's like a kid watching his parents argue. Finster's real popularity began with his hit cover of "The Monster Mash". Ernie once again declares lunch on the house for everybody in the entire world which explains how he stays in business. It's nice to see Ernie, cause he's a secondary char & while he's constantly pandering to the PRs promoting their careless lifestyle, yet at times he's sympathetic or at least understanding of B&S's shenanigans. The same women from last ep return to taunt B&S w/ their coincidental bizarre fascination with the PRs & men in uniforms. If they think a PR costume is uniform, they might as well date Chuck E. Cheese. There is odd sexual titillation stemming from uniforms (Freudian?). Perhaps it's the submission to a person w/ presumed authority that undressing someone from their scarlet serge adds flavor, but more likely it's due to humanity's innate desire for fantasy & the situational reenactment of creating one's own fun that excites & motivates people in a good way (hence books & TV exist). Unfort, B&S's motivation is a bit pronatalist. This brings us to the much longed-for B&S storyarc for the season 3. At the Police Academy they witness people giving themselves carpal tunnel syndrome, torn ligaments, asthma, & exercise-induced brochospasms. The constant upstream against the runners is a metaphor for B&S's nonconformity, & the haircutting is an indication of how institutions vie to abolish intrinsic individuality, like in totalitarianism. Speaking as someone whose father used to give him navy crew cuts, having short hair makes you look like a total dork. Skull apparently would rather be a lumberjack. I don't know about this Lt. Stoned guy yet. It's an odd change to see B&S kowtowing to one individual as a general basis, or to see them become butch. If they're like me, their hair will just grow back to where it was in a couple of days, while the PRs reenact the movie. Lt. Stoned is essentially what's wrong with America: complete assholes who work you into conformity through physical exertion & care not for what is natural. When do they beat up jaywalkers? (Less)
