Bulk and Skull 22 Bulk makes the claim that the PR could never comprehend the task of finding out who the PR are. (More) Bulk makes the claim that the PR could never comprehend the task of finding out who the PR are. This is certainly true, because the PR are insipidly shallow what with their constant needless busywork, projected self-involvement, and their subtle egomania they don't have time to see anything but their own goodness. Plus they're just two-dimensional "teen wonder bread" stereotypes. Bulk and Skull were simply too exploratory for the writers of the show to comprehend. They wanted to find out the truth on the PRs, and they certainly seemed prepared to take whatever unfortunate truth this might entail. This was not in the same way that journalists go about spreading scandal and rumor, mind you, although greed always plays a factor in Bulk's and Skull's plans. They're no fools; they know money is one of society's great demands if they want to avoid the delusional misery of the ascetic lifestyle. But Bulk and Skull sought out the dark side to people who mask their own identities long before Smallville was exploring a sympathetic side to Lex Luthor.
The humor in this scene is the usual writers-lashing-out syndrome, where Bulk and Skull are making a big scene (all they have to do is show up, really) for sandwiches that are right next to them, which is irrelevent unless Ernie is implying they take them for free. The whole customer-employer thing is something Freud really should have explored instead of getting fed up of people who told him about their dreams and turned to sexually degrading them instead. On a side note (an excuse to digress), check out David Yost's IMDB. You'd think he'd be doing all sorts of film work these days on popular shows. That, and they're really pushing this "Curtis" guy, mentioning him when he's not even there. Face it, he's not on the show. I detect unscupulous hidden motives.
Even the heavens rain firey death upon Bulk and Skull simply for being too interesting for the philistines to comprehend. In case anybody wonders about Skull's outfit, he's dressed as a Northern Civil War soldier (the woah between thuh staytes). The reason he's not dressed as a Southern general is because there's something racist about wanting to create a country based on enslaving an entire nation of people. Yeah, the Confederate flag is an important piece of history: the history that Southerners were fat gun-toting racists with political agendas. You know what'd be ironic? A southerner who CAN'T VOTE. Zing!
Episode 2.17 has what you've been waiting for: the return of Rita Repulsor! The only good villain, we spent about 60 episodes already NOT getting to know this interesting character better. And where the hell has Finster gone, too!? Things better be changing, soon! Bonus points for Skull mentioning his dad's workshop. Mr. Skullovich as you'll recall is a biker.
This episode also features Tommy evolving onto land with a pair of skin-colored trunks. I didn't include that shot.
Skull has an idea! Intriguing... More intriguing than the whole "Ganondorf the White" thing going on in the subplot about the PRs. That scene was so goofy and terrible that I almost considered showing it, but I realize that every episode of MMPR belongs on Mystery Science Theater 3000. So it's finally happened! Bulk and Skull have finally been contrived into the plot! Take THAT, PRs. Included is an outdoor location shot of where Bulk and Skull are. Bonus bonus!
Episode 2.18 includes the talking tiger handle that says "Activate the tiger-zord!" This also is included. Man, whenever they introduce Tommy as a new ranger the show gets so dang goofy. Feel free to make a "riding the white tiger" joke if you so wish. It's pretty damn insulting for Rita to call Bulk and Skull a "human Squat and Baboo". Squat and Baboo are mincing freaks, whereas Bulk and Skull are clever and amusing and not repulsive to look at. Technically she should become their slave for having been freed by them, but unfortunately what're you gonna do?
And it all comes back to CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! (Less)
