Irie Bob 1992 - Myspace Music Greenhouse Effect... "Irie Bob" was recorded in Late 1992 in (More) "Irie Bob" was recorded in Late 1992 in a 3 hour recording session with Clark Hagins playing and overdubbing all instruments with sound studio engineer Bill Krodel at Jet City Studio in El Segundo California; "Don't call us,..we will call you" gush the happy/sad/angry/confused lyrics (Poetry) in this grande obviously indie 'emo' song that was clearly calculated. Clark Hagins began the song with a simple but powerful 4/4 drum beat track....then wrythm guitars, fuzz guitar and bass were slapped on...at the end, Higgins decided he wanted some silly "1960's" styled keyboards added over and thats where the magical skills of Krodel were applied ! The song in the end,...has a heavy "Pixies" -like type vibe.... "I approach gold thats gleaming" shouts Higgins "Its a 'bout time, they've warned me" "I've been so apathetic,...but now i'm a hungry addicted" For a song that seems to run off the same guitar riff over and over (Clean wrythm then with heavy distortion for the chorus),..the track has a strong and gripping melody and today has turned out to be one of G.e's strongest songs as it has garnished 16,000 robot-less 'views' at Myspace and Youtube youtube.com/sharkge7 ...it sat around for years as a track Higgins would listen to from Bel Air in 1995 and 96' to Lomita in 1997 and finally down into 'North County' Carlsbad and Oceanside, as Higgins for years dreamed of an avenue for the song; The internet has become that strong avenue...and atlast, G.e. has a listener-base in 2007, 2008 and 2009. G.e. could never attain a record deal either indie or major and these great songs were seemingly 'going to waste' for many years - but finally now; NOT ANYMORE !! GOOGLEVIDEOCOM as well as vimeo, meta-cafe, MSN MUSIC...ALL SPORT G.E. videos ...and songs such as 1992's "Brandy" atlast have their say on the world internet. Check out "Brandy" at msn video com where in just three days it is off to a 1000 view start !! "It ain't easy" is a fine song that got it's first real 'release' in September of 2008 at Google. 'It ain't Easy" sat in a tape box unheard from December of 1992 all the way til 2008. "The internet allows me to do alot of stuff that labels do,..without having to have a record deal" says clarke higgins "i can put up my music and 'blog' it and or enter songs in competitions at places like Ourstagecom and others...its great,...the only trouble is...now i'm 43 years old (Laughs)" Higgins muses about websites that seem only too willing to "Help him and his G.e. cause" "For years,..i wondered what i could do,..i gave up many times,..i just threw up my hands in 1992 and early 93' and i quit...i tried -albiet rather feebily- to keep playing...into 1995, i jammed with a couple of new musicians but it just wasn't g.e. and i wasn't in charge,...when-ever i am relegated to the background- like per say; just being someone's drummer,..its not gonna work,..because what i really am is a frontman ,..a singer/songwriter,...to put me back there on the drums in the background is just a waste and i don't wanna do it,..my heart just isn't into that anymore" "In 1998,..when i was 33,..i "officially" came back - to the music scene ,..and i jammed with a band called Svengali that i formed,..i had this little place up in Torrance where i would jam alone on drums and guitar,..but then i made the mistake of 'inviting' other Torrance clowns around me from the South Bay to come and jam,..well,..in the end,..it didn't turn out to well,..about maybe two or three months into that project - my so called south bay 'friends' ...including one of them who was my actual 'brother' ,..well ...they decided it was time to throw the good shark outta the band !! - imagine that one !!(Laughs),..i remember i came back and i was yelling at them; "you guys get the fuck outta here - 'this' is my jamming rehearsal space that 'i' discovered and was using !! (Laughs),...its really funny because all these flakey guys were listening to not one but BOTH of my cd's ...'Fountain' 'AND' The Rock Opera White Suburban Liars and we were mainly playing my songs for the few gigs that we actually booked and were actually able to go play ,...'when they removed me from the band,...they didn't have anymore original songs and suddenly they had to write their own (Laughs),..well needless to say,..'that' didn't go over too well,..and about maybe - i donno,..a few months after me,..they broke up,..but what was a bummer is that i lost that jamming rehearsal space,..and any musician like me who is low on cash knows that cheap or free rehearsal is hard to come by,( i guess my two cd's where i played all the instruments n all didn't 'impress' them very much (Laughs)...anyway,....1998 , though did turn out to be the year that i pretty much 'discovered' the internet and chat rooms,..i didn't know then ofcourse how to upload videos or mp3's ,..and i remember what little like that you could do - it was hard in those days,...i was really bummed though,...'cause i was doing like these insane 200 mile 5 hour drives back and forth to go jam with these guys,...thats how badly the 33 year old Shark wanted to jam again ! it had been six long years about,..since i left G.e. Vocaloid Song Downloads [Part Forty-Five - 100... As of this morning, when I reprinted Hamlet, I (More) As of this morning, when I reprinted Hamlet, I reached a total of 100 videos and 50 reprints! Not to mention I'm close to 50 of my Downloads series! And I have now over 5000 Vocaloid songs (1000+ of which are Miku. She gets a lot of songs), and over 450 subscribers! You're all sooo awesome! *parties* To celebrate, I fit as many songs as I could into one video. Any requests will be addressed in 46. It's been a year, with a huge gap of time while I was gone, but it's been awesome. And before you ask, yes, you'll get this many songs (24 total) in Part 50 as well. :D I made sure there were a variety of singers, so now there's SO STINKING MUCH to talk about! I mean, I love sooooo many of these songs. Now to ramble. Where to start, where to start... I'll just go in order they are in the video with which ones I want to talk about. There's Bequeath, a godly Kaito song known more so for its music than Kaito's vocals, the hilarious song Shape Up! about Rin being fat and needing to lose weight, and the I'll Quit Singing parody. Then comes the amazingly well done -- I mean, listen to her clear Japanese! -- Sweet Ann selfcest Magnet made for her birthday this year, and Miki's first actual solo song in my series. D: Sorry there. After that comes HNNNNG one of my favorite Gakupo songs evar, Ritsu's awesome BRS released a few days ago (Featured are what I think two future Ritsu appends -- the high one you hear in the sample and an actually male Ritsu voice) for his upcoming birthday, and ... (Less)
