A: No. Non-Members can only craft up to Body Runes. Although you can access the outside of the Chaos Altar, the Chaos talisman and tiara is a members' object. Note that only pure essence can craft the members' only runes. ---------------------------------------------- Q: Do you get more experience when you are able to craft more than one rune from one essence? A: No. Experience is calculated per essence crafted, not per rune made. ---------------------------------------------- Q: Is it possible to craft Soul Runes? A: Yes, but only at the Ourania Altar and the chance of producing them is random. The amount of Soul runes made at Ourania Altar is connected to your runecrafting level, the higher runecrafting level you have the more change of a higher amount. Pure essence can be used by both members and free players, however only members can mine it. Q: How many glory amulets should I have whilst crafting via the Abyss? A: The more you have, the better. It takes approximately 110 seconds to make a successful trip through the Abyss. You can last for about an hour in the Abyss with 10 glory amulets before having to recharge them. Having 10 plus amulets will be most effective. ---------------------------------------------- Q: Why does everyone keep talking about 91 runecrafting? What is so special about it? A: At 91 runecrafting you gain the ability to craft double nature runes per essence. No, it is not possible to trade these pouches with other players. How do I begin to craft runes? To craft runes, you need to obtain a talisman (an air talisman will be your first) and rune or pure essence. Once you have these, use the talisman to locate the altar, to enter and begin crafting runes. Unless you have completed Rune Mysteries, you will only be able to obtain essence from trading with other players. Completion of the quest will give access to the rune essence mine. ---------------------------------------------- What is the elemental talisman? The elemental talisman is a universal talisman that can be used at any of the elemental altars. This includes the air, fire, earth and water altars. If your pouch degrades, you can take it back to the Dark Mage and he will repair it for free. Where is the Dark Mage? The Dark Mage is at the centre of the Abyss. It will guarantee success when creating combined runes. This item may be used up to 15 times before it breaks and vanishes. Which NPCs will teleport me to the rune essence mine? The following people are the only ones that can teleport you to the rune essence mines: * Wizard Sedridor on the lower level of the Wizards' Tower south of Draynor Village. * Aubury in the rune shop in Varrock, just south of the east bank. * Wizard Cromperty in East Ardougne, just to the north-east of the Marketplace. * Wizard Distentor in the Magic Guild in Yanille. * The gnome Brimstail in a cave in the Tree Gnome Stronghold (north-west of Ardougne). To find his cave, head north-west in the Stronghold until you see a small bridge on the west side of the Stronghold.
