Michael Brown by Karlsburg mk II This is the version where the singer forgets the words. And sadly I've forgotten her name (More) This is the version where the singer forgets the words. And sadly I've forgotten her name (Michelle is all I remember). Karlsburg was a band made up for a sitcom called Band For Life, staged at of The Sitcom Trials. The song, Michael Brown, was written by Kev F Sutherland (formerly of Walter Tottle) and the instruments are played by Kev & Jim Warren (Korgis, Stackridge). The miming imaginary band members here are Kev and Jim, with comedians Darren Hoskins and Gareth Hughes, and as the posh rapper we have Iain Morris, then a student at Bristol Uni, who later went on to be Channel 4's Commissioning Editor for Comedy and the man who brought Ricky Gervais onto TV. This is, I'm sure, the comedy moment he's still proudest of. (Less)
Michael Brown by Karlsburg mk 1 Sadly Karlsburg didn't last very long. They were a band made up for a sitcom called Band For (More) Sadly Karlsburg didn't last very long. They were a band made up for a sitcom called Band For Life, staged as part of The Sitcom Trials. The song, Michael Brown, was written by Kev F Sutherland (formerly of Walter Tottle) and the instruments are played by Kev & Jim Warren (Korgis, Stackridge). The vocals here are by Helen Stone, with miming imaginary band members Rob Hughes and Ed Grassby. The ill-advised rap (and, yes, it's supposed to be bad) is by Barnaby Curtis. There is another version of Michael Brown to be found on YouTube with a completely different line-up (including Sutherland, Warren and a fairly famous TV producer). (Less)
