Former atheist sings "Trust and Obey" Hello, I am a former atheist. I became agnostic later. Then I got involved in the occult. :-( I was (More) Hello, I am a former atheist. I became agnostic later. Then I got involved in the occult. :-( I was full of hate and anger. I rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because I was foolish and evil. I did not seek God, but He sought me. Because Jesus Christ paid for my sins. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. I want to obey God. See my blog for the details. http://georgeamarcelo.wordpress.com/ I will worship God forever. :-) Even when it is noisy. Even when I feel blurry. Even when the lighting is bad. Because He wants me to. Trust and obey for there's no other way To be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. I hope my testimony encourages you to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who hate God. May God bless you all. Trust and Obey John H. Sammis, 1887 Copyright: Public Domain Main subject: Trust Scripture: Psalm 84:11-12 When we walk with the Lord In the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy with Jesus, But to trust and obey. Not a shadow can rise, Not a cloud in the skies, But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, Not a sigh or a tear, Can abide if we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy with Jesus, But to trust and obey. Not a burden we bear, Not a sorrow we share, But our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss, Not a frown or a cross, But is blest if we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy with Jesus, But to trust and obey. But we never can prove The delights of His love Until all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows, For the joy He bestows, Are for them who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy with Jesus, But to trust and obey. Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet. Or we'll walk by His side in the way. What He says we will do, Where He sends we will go; Never fear, only trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy with Jesus, But to trust and obey. HISTORY: In 1886, Daniel Towner, was leading the music during one of Moody's preaching campaigns in Massachusetts. During the service a young man stood up to give a testimony. "I am not quite sure -- but I am going to trust, and I am going to obey." Towner jotted down the words and sent them to his friend, John Sammis, who was a Presbyterian pastor. Sammis using the words of this short testimony wrote the hymn we know as "Trust and Obey." As he wrote the hymn he considered the different areas of our life what we need to trust God about. (1) our daily walk in life (2) during the difficult times in life (3) our total submission (4) following God's call for our life (Less)

When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy with Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

The delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;

For the joy He bestows,
