Mega Man X1 - No Dash/Damage Sigma's Fortress Boss Rush - 2
Vile ~ Vile without the dash is incredibly similar to those nigh-impossible robot masters of old (More) Vile ~ Vile without the dash is incredibly similar to those nigh-impossible robot masters of old like Shadow Man. His movement is incredibly erratic and absolutely untelegraphed. You simply have to rhythm your jumping perfectly, and stay the appropriate distance from him at all times. The real killer is when he jumps instead of firing/dashing. You need to react in the FRAME of jumping and walk under him or you'll be caught in his mines. Luckily, that wasn't encountered this time around. The saving grace is the ease with which you can hit him and the short length of the battle. Bospider - Although only a moderately difficult boss when you have the pattern, Bospider proved an altogether different fight than my normal approach. Because you can easily fake him out with the dash even at his fastest, the pattern of wire he maneuvered on was fairly inconsequential. However, without the dash the battle became entirely about learning how he behaved on what patterns. However, the variety is so limited, and his behavior so manipulatable, that is is likely the third easiest next to Randga Bandga and Sigma. Speaking of... Randga Bangda ~ A complete breath of fresh air of which I have little to say. All his attacks are slow and predictable. You do want to make it a point to destroy the eye on your side first, though, as when one is gone, the other goes frantic with red, which may be problematic if you share platform space with it. D-Rex ~ For a time I was convinced this was impossible without the best of luck (namely catching him in a battle using only his energy balls). This battle is easily the hardest in the game under these conditions, surpassing Launch Octopus. It took ages to find out exactly how to manipulate his movement and X's incapacitation (which is basically unavoidable) in ways which would avoid damage. It is a godsend that D-Rex's head sprite is JUST far away enough from the wall that X can pixel his way past without damage, or I would've given up entirely. When he speeds up, it becomes ridiculous to the point where strategy goes out the window. Try your best to time everything perfectly, and pray you can catch him from bring both parts to your side, or he'll fall, and you're screwed. This battle was pure hell. Velgauder ~ This proved quite a hassle at first, but truthfully, the only thing that will kill you here is your own arrogance. Stay in the top half of the wall and wait for opportunity to come to you, instead of dive bombing down like a madman to get every shot you can in. In other words, don't do anything I do in this video. I got lucky, he didn't shoot me up the times I slid down to blast him. Sigma ~ Lay back and have fun. This boss is as pathetic as in a normal playthrough. The only trick is, how fast can you kill him? It took me a ways through the battle to pick up a consistent damage timing. Velgauder Sigma ~ This battle, while not the most difficult, is painfully precise. Each move is well telegraphed and easy to avoid. However, his energy shots require you to pay very close attention, and with so much going on in the fight, it's easy to lose track and bear a stupid hit. There's a well known 'safe spot' I demonstrate halfway through the battle to mix up the monotony. It's helpful no matter how you're fighting him. You need to watch for the other claw, but it's easier and shorter than dealing with a barrage of energy shots. (Less)
KH2FM - Axel Data No Damage/More Restrictions (LV1 CM)

I actually had another one, but it was basically the same as Apul's, minus a few things. I wasn't happy with it, so I threw in the normal restrictions I do. Rules: No Damage No Magic No Drive No Limit No Item No Summons No using stat boosts No Armor No Accesories No Half RC Trick Kingdom Key only Only have any of the following abilities equipped: Guard Horizontal Slash/Air Side Slash Finisher Rise/Leap Flash Step Slide Dash Guard Break Explosion Aerial Spiral Aerial Sweep Aerial Dive Aerial Finish Counterguard High Jump LV3 Quick Run Lv3 Dodge Roll Lv3 Aerial Dodge LV3 Glide LV3 Scan Combo Master Combo Plus (if you want) Finishing Plus (only can be obtained in FM at LV1) ---- Axel's moves are very limited. But with that comes a very limited area, as far as movement goes. Do yourself a favor and unequip Quick Run, else you'll just QR right into a fire wall and die. Speaking of which, the wall is quite annoying. Never stay too close to it, even if you believe you're a safe distance. Axel changes a bit when you remove the floor. Instead of jumping into the wall everytime you do two finishers, he will do the annoying "GET BACK!!!" move. Dodge Roll it, don't trust Guard. He may still jump into the wall. I personally think it's the most complicated part of the fight, because he will either bust out with a Reaction Command or come out fast with a "GET BACK" move. There's no way you'll be able to react fast to the difference between the two, so I would strongly suggest pressing the RC button when he comes out, but also be prepared to dodge roll if it isn't a RC move. It's random what happens too, so don't try to predict it. One last word of advice. If Axel does the Reaction Command move twice in a row when the floor is not on fire, don't do two finishers the second time. He'll counter after the first one. I happened to get luck and blocked the counter with Explosion, but it was really risky. About the no item rule, it doesn't make a difference. In Apul's he used a Potion everytime he put out the floor, I'm guessing to stop the annoying critical HP sound. So it would still count if you used it. Everything in this fight will one hit kill you, full HP or not, so it doesn't really matter. I didn't have any equipped so I didn't have a choice. Difficulty for normal LV1 win: ****** Difficulty for normal LV1 win (with restrictions): ******* Difficulty for LV1 no damage: ******* Difficulty for LV1 no damage (with restrictions): ******** Personally it wasn't that hard once you get used to it. It's the damn fire wall you have to look out for. But anyway, this is the last restricted fight I've done up until this point. There is another one I wanted to do, but I haven't been able to come up with a working method for the last form of that data fight. I'll try later, but if I can't come up with anything I probably won't do it. Even though I'm 80% sure there must be an alternate way to it. ---- Q: How do you stay Level 1? A: In Critical Mode in KH2FM, you are given an EXP 0 ability at the beginning of the game. Equipping it makes it so you don't gain experience. Drive Forms aren't affected by it, so you can still level those up. Q: What's Critical Mode (CM)? A: Critical Mode is the new difficulty mode in KH2FM. It's basically slightly harder than a low level Proud Mode challenge. Q: Hey how come you have (Insert ability here) at level 1 when you get (insert same ability here) at (insert KH2 required level here). A: In KH2FM, they switched some abilities around and made some where you don't have to level up to gain them. A perfect example is the Scan ability. Q: How can you do 2 finishers so early on in the game? A: Just like with the EXP 0 ability, you're also given a Finishing Plus ability at the start of the game. So you can do 1 normal finisher + a second finisher. Q: How come I hear English voices if this is KH2FM? I thought it was Japanese! A: KH2FM has English voices with Japanese text. Simple as that, I don't know why people can't grasp that. Q: How can I get KH2FM and how would I get it to run on my PS2? A: If you have the fat PS2, like me, get Swap Magic + a Slide Card. I got the Swap Magic 3.6 + Slide Card deal at thegiantstore.com. I also bought KH2FM at play-asia.com Q: How come your stats increase if you're level 1? A: You get bonus level stat ups from beating scripted fights. For example, some give you HP+, MP+, Strength +1, Defense +1, etc. If this didn't happen, then it would be near impossible to do a LV1 playthrough. Q: Hey is this Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix? A: You're an idiot, get off the internets. (Less)
