ALTERNATIVE ROCK: Papa Roach EVEN STOOM AFBLAZEN!!! Altijd weer lekker met "Last Resort" van "Papa (More) EVEN STOOM AFBLAZEN!!! Altijd weer lekker met "Last Resort" van "Papa Roach"...!!! "Papa Roach" (of ook wel "P Roach") is een alternative rockband, opgericht in 1993 in het stadje "Vacaville" in "Noord-Californie", bestaande uit "Jacoby Shaddix" (zang), "Jerry Horton" (gitaar), "Tobin Esperance" (bassgitaar) en "Dave Buckner" (drums)... Hun naam komt van de grootvader van "Jacoby", die werd namelijk "papa" genoemd en had als achternaam "Roatch"... hun doorbraak kwam met het zesde album "Infest" uit 2000 waarvan dit de eerste officiele single is die is uitgebracht... ze hadden al vijf eerdere albums opgenomen, maar dit was de eerste via een groot bekend platenlabel ("Warner Bros. Records") en wordt zodoende gezien als hun eerste officieele album... In de videoclip zijn heel veel posters te zien van het radiostation "98 Rock" uit "Sacramento", "Californie", die volgens de leden van "Papa Roach" verantwoordelijk zijn voor de start van hun populariteit en hun carriere... in het "Infest"-booklet staan ook nog vele dankwoorden van de bandleden aan de DJ's van het radiostation... Over het nummer "Last Resort" zijn vele geruchten, vermoedelijke schandalen en opmerkingen in de wereld... zo beweert "Metallica"-gitarist "Kirk Hammett" dat de 'main-riff' van het nummer een 'rip-off' is van het nummer "Hallowed Be Thy Name" van "Iron Maiden" en vele "Tourniquet"-fans beweren op hun beurt weer dat de 'main-riff' een 'rip-off' is van het nummer "Ark of Suffering" van "Tourniquet" omdat de 'riff' op het punt van 3min.13sec. van dit nummer heel erg veel zou lijken op de 'riff' van "Last Resort"... politics, politics... Tijdens een optreden in de "Saturday Night Live Show" in 2000 werd het nummer gespeeld tijdens een "Culp Family Musical Performance Skit" waar het woord "fuck" vervangen werd door het woord "fork"... (oehhhh, wat erg... "fuck"... hoe durven ze...!!! pfff, get a life...!!!) Anyway... het nummer is voor mij naast "Killing In The Name" van "Rage Against The Machine" een van de stoom-afblaas-nummers waar ik helemaal op los kan gaan...!!! Ik hoop jullie ook...!!!
