Germany: Justin Bieber leaves pet monkey trapped… Beliebers won't want to believe it, but Canadian (More) Beliebers won't want to believe it, but Canadian heart throb Justin Bieber will have to irrevocably abandon his pet monkey Mally to a German zoo if he does not send someone or go himself to retrieve the pet from a "secret place" by midnight tonight. Mally was left behind in Munich by Bieber after a concert in March, and Bieber has been charged with a fine of tens of thousands of dollars to cover the costs for the monkey's upkeep, including food and medical costs. The capuchin monkey, whose full name was O.G. Mally (Original Gangsta Mally) before he was renamed "Bubele" by the German shelter, was originally seized by customs officials when it was discovered that the 19 year-old singing sensation lacked the correct paperwork for him. Mally was quarantined by German officials and held at the Munich-Reim animal shelter when he was just 14 weeks old. A spokesperson for the animal shelter said that the monkey had been taken from his mother at too young an age and was in need of veterinary care. "I don't think that Justin Bieber really took care of him and therefore I don't think he misses him too much," said Sofie Hoermann, a keeper at the animal shelter. German officials from the animal sanctuary said that Mally had been clinging to a toy stuffed cat during his stay there. He initially needed to be fed by hand hourly since he could not eat on his own, with his favourite food being grapes. Tons of Twitters devoted to Mally have sprung up since he was gifted to and then taken from Bieber. Mally will join a group of capuchin monkeys outside of Bavaria if he is not picked up tonight. Mally was presented to Bieber as a gift for his 19th birthday on March 1 from the rapper Jamal "Mally Mall" Rashid. Shortly before Mally was confiscated, Bieber posted pictures of them together on his Instagram account. This is not Bieber's first controversial pet. He made headlines when he gave his pet hamster, PAC, to a fan after a concert in New York City. The hamster died three months later, allegedly of renal failure. Meanwhile, Bieber is expected to perform his new song "Take You" at the Billboard Awards on Sunday in dedication to his on-again-off-again girlfriend, pop starlet Selena Gomez. The two were spotted clubbing together in Los Angeles at Supperclub on Tuesday night. Gomez will sing her new single "Come and Get It" at the Billboard Awards, but it will be too late for it to serve as a message to Bieber from Mally. (Less)
