1970 Munro-Sears All-Star Table Hockey Game If you had this game as a kid you know how much fun it was to play. Now here's the chance to (More) If you had this game as a kid you know how much fun it was to play. Now here's the chance to relive your childhood! This 1970 Sears All-Star Table Hockey Game was made by the Munro Toy Company and is a virtual clone of the Munro made Bobby Hull games of the same vintage. It was made near the end of the tin men and metal game era. It is in excellent condition for a game nearly 40 years old.
For displayability it scores a perfect ten out of ten! This game would not look out of place in a hockey museum. The playing surface is beautiful! Game wear and tear is almost imperceptible. It looks like a Zamboni just put down a fresh sheet of ice.
If you're buying the game to play it, you're looking at the right game. On many games of this vintage the wing areas of the playing surface have warped significantly over the years, but the integrity of this game board is excellent with only a very slight unevenness on one wing. The remaining three wing slots are flat.
The full-color metal frame is in excellent condition with only a couple of minor, hard to find dents as you can see in the pictures. The metal sides are rust free! Paint loss is minimal and yet another reason this game will help make your bar or game room the envy of all your friends. The metal frame has vivid color and displays like new. The plastic corners are flawless. The plastic is free from breaks, cracks and stress marks.
The underside of the game is perfect! Munro made thee best quality tabletop games around and the all-metal player control mechanisms work just as well today as they did when the game was new!
The tin players representing the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens are in amazing condition. Each is rust-free with exceptional color.
The two nets and puck are original! The nets are bright white in color and in almost perfect condition. The overhead scoreboard is in good condition. It's not perfect but it's much better than you'd expect after 36 years. There's a small hole in the red plastic automatic puck drop that does not affect game play and a couple of cracks in the scoreboard holder have been repaired very carefully with superglue. The cardboard score panels still look good. One lists the Original Six teams; Montreal, Toronto, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins. The second panel lists the Original Six Expansion teams from 1967; the long defunct Minnesota North Stars and Oakland Seals, the St. Louis Blues, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins.
The original game box is included. It has its rough spots but is still a nice display piece in and of itself.
