V. Puttapa (Kuvempu). The song is also the State anthem of Karnataka. The beauty and the central theme of the song is that it envisages a Karnataka that is very proud of its position in the comity of Indian states. Mother Karnataka is called a Proud daughter of Mother India who believes in peaceful co-existence with her sisters, but at the same time maintains her self-respect and dignity.
