“2009 Itch” has been conceived as a continuation of the „! Re:MM” project (More) “2009 Itch” has been conceived as a continuation of the „! Re:MM” project (iconofthebeauty.weebly.com/remm.htm). This time the main issue was not the iconic personage of Marilyn Monroe herself but the film, and particularly: the very image of the „Seven Years Itch” . The original image has been infected by an itch, burrowing into the superficial layers of its scarf-skin… But it is not only the image that gets infected. It happens also to the images of MM, known as the icon of beauty, hyper-perfect, well shaped and without any moles. What has been questioned is a kind of double perfection (of the image and the object), a perfection that we could define, after Jean Baudrillard, as pornographic… “2009 itch” is a parasite and a mixed form in the same time - images chosen from the „Seven Years Itch”, combined with the monologs of MM from other scenes of the same film and mixed with fragments of songs from „The Marylin Monroe Golden” , the only album of Norma Jane… „2009 ITCH” powstał jako kontynuacja projektu „! Re: MM”. Tym razem idzie nie tyle o samą ikoniczną postać Marylin Monroe, ile o film, a konkretnie: obraz filmowy „Słomianego wdowca” („Seven Years Itch”). Obraz oryginalny zostaje tu niejako zakażony cyfrowym świerzbem („itch”), drążącym w warstwie rogowej jego naskórka… Świerzbem zostaje również pokryte oblicze Marilyn Monroe, zwykle funkcjonujące jako ikona piękna, hiper-doskonałe, krągłe i pozbawione znamion mogących wprowadzić niepotrzebny zamęt. Zakłócona zostaje podwojona doskonałość (zarówno samego obrazu, jaki i zobrazowanego przedmiotu), którą można by – za Jeanem Baudrillardem – określić mianem pornograficznej… „2009 ITCH” to forma pasożytnicza i mieszana. Found footage w warstwie wizualnej, czyli wybrane obrazy ze „Słomianego wdowca”, splatają się tu z monologami MM z innych scen tego samego filmu, dodatkowo zmiksowanymi z piosenkami z „The Marylin Monroe Golden”, jedynej płyty Normy Jeane… hirszalex.art.pl/ (Less)
