Simpsons Season 11 - 14 - Alone Again Natura-Diddily "Alone Again, Natura-Diddily" is the fourteenth episode of The Simpsons' eleventh (More) "Alone Again, Natura-Diddily" is the fourteenth episode of The Simpsons' eleventh season. The episode aired on February 13, 2000. This is the last episode in which Maude Flanders appears, as she is killed in this episode, though she did come back as a ghost in "Treehouse of Horror XIII", as an angel in the Season 17 episode "Bart Has Two Mommies" and in Season 20 episode "Dangerous Curves" in flashbacks.++++++++++++++++++++++++Plot Maude Flanders, seconds before her death. On a trip to the bird sanctuary, the family sees that a new speedway has been built and is opening that day. The family goes to the racetrack and are surprised to meet the Flanders family, who came not to see the race but for the high levels of safety used. Not long after arriving, a squad of cheerleaders is giving out free T-shirts by firing them from air cannons into the crowd, and Homer rudely demands one. Irritated by his antics, Maude goes to buy some hot dogs. Homer draws a target on his chest and gains the attention of the promotional cheerleaders. The cheerleaders send a full salvo of t-shirts in Homer's direction, but Homer bends down at the last second to pick up a bobby pin. The T-shirts hit Maude instead, causing her to fall over the bleacher's edge and hit the concrete below. A crowd forms outside the stadium and Dr. Hibbert pronounces Maude Flanders dead. During Maude's funeral Reverend Lovejoy eulogizes her as follows: "In many ways, Maude Flanders was a supporting player in our lives. She didn't grab our attention with memorable catchphrases, or comical accents. But, whether you noticed her or not, Maude was always there...and we thought she always would be." The service ends with the squad of cheerleaders giving a 21 T-shirt gun salute (where Homer finally gets his T-shirt). Everyone shows their condolences for Ned's loss, including Moe (who outrages Ned by making suggestive comments about her). Bart reluctantly spends time with Rod and Todd by playing a Christian video game with them. Even Homer decides to stop acting like a jerk to Ned, instead accompanying Ned back home that night, affectionately kissing him goodnight, and talking with Ned later that night when Ned cannot find sleep due to his loneliness and now having to raise his sons as a widower. To help his neighbor, Homer secretly makes a videotape of Ned Flanders to show to the interesting single girls across Springfield (including a tape of Ned taking a shower and footage of Marge giving birth to Maggie, which Homer couldn't edit from the final cut), helping him, but the dates are unsuccessful. On Saturday night, Ned prays to God, but begins to lose faith and becomes angry with God when he feels no response. The next morning, Ned Flanders is still angry and tells his kids that they will not be going to church, scaring them away. Guilt-ridden, he later rushes to church (apologizing out loud to God the whole way), and upon entering, sees a Christian rock band, Kovenant, perform. He is attracted (both physically and spiritually) to the singer, Rachel Jordan, who sings about not losing faith in God because he is always there for people. Inspired by the song, Ned later assists Rachel in loading some equipment onto her truck and confides in her of his loss, with which she sympathizes. He and Rachel become acquainted and it is suggested that they both have developed a fondness for one another by the time she leaves. (Less)

Its name is a parody of the 1988 film Coming to America starring Eddie Murphy.[1] The storyline is a pick on the illegal immigration by Mexicans to the United States, complete with self-appointed vigilantes and building a fence to prevent it. 5.86 million viewers tuned in to watch this episode, making it the third least watched episode in the history of The Simpsons, and the lowest in history for a season finale.++++++++++++++++Plot Krustyburger is proclaimed to serve the unhealthiest fast food in the country, so Krusty decides that his namesake restaurant should serve the "Mother Nature Burger," which is entirely vegetarian. Although the Springfield townsfolk initially devour the burgers, they soon fall ill with food poisoning. The illness is traced to tainted barley, which was grown in the neighboring town of Ogdenville. The residents of Ogdenville, who are descended from Norwegian settlers, are forced to abandon their town and seek employment in Springfield. The residents of Springfield are initially hospitable to the displaced Ogdenvillians, and hire them as day laborers. Homer hires several Ogdenvillians to fix his roof, Marge hires a nanny named Inga to care for Bart, Lisa and Maggie, and Selma finds love with Thorbjrn, a brawny blond. Meanwhile, Bart wishes to establish his reputation as a star skateboarder after seeing a teenager from Ogdenville show off. While Bart's skateboard stunt is executed perfectly, it ends abruptly when he crashes into the side of a school bus and dislocates his arm. Homer and Marge rush him to the hospital, but tension builds when they are forced to wait for hours because the waiting room is full of patients from Ogdenville. Furious, Marge, Homer and Bart return home, where Marge puts Bart's arm back into place herself. Homer storms off to Moe's Tavern, only to discover that Moe is serving aquavit and the bar is full of Ogdenvillians. Homer demands a mug of aquavit, unaware of its alcohol content, is instantly intoxicated, and subsequently loses his job at the nuclear power plant when he arrives at work drunk. Mayor Quimby calls a town meeting, where it is decided that the Springfield border should be closed to residents of Ogdenville. Chief Wiggum and fellow officer Lou are unable to control the border themselves, so they distribute guns and beer to a group of vigilantes, among them Homer, Lenny and Carl. The group decides on the name "Star-Spangled Goofballs," and after several failed attempts to keep Ogdenvillians out of Springfield, decide to build a wall. At first, Marge believes the wall contradicts the values of tolerance that she taught their children, but changes her mind when Maggie utters her first word, the Norwegian word "ja" (meaning "yes", although her actual first word was 'daddy' in Lisa's First Word, this is the first episode in which Maggie speaks directly to her family). The residents of Springfield begin building a massive wall and hire workers from Ogdenville to assist with its construction. As the building progresses, the residents of both communities discover that their similarities outweigh their differences. Once the wall is complete, the residents of both communities realize that they miss their neighbors, so the Ogdenvillians come back through a door they built in the wall to join a Springfield party (Less)
