Who Knew 3 [Chpt 3] Kevin and Lauren stood there staring at each other for what seemed like an eternity. The crowd (More) Kevin and Lauren stood there staring at each other for what seemed like an eternity. The crowd noticed so they began to cheer. Lauren came to her senses and quickly pulled her hand out of his. He smiled and she melted inside. She gave nick the check and he gave her a plaque for her achievements. They stood there and took a lot of pictures and when the ceremony was over she began to walk off stage when Kevin caught up to her and stopped her.
Kevin: hey. Um I was wondering...if maybe you would want to go to dinner? [saw the shocked look on her face] I mean with my brothers and stuff. [trying not to make it feel awkward]
Lauren: um. I don't know. You guys must be super busy.
Joe and nick walked up to them.
Joe: actually no.
Nick: don't really have anything to do for like 2 days.
Lauren: seriously?
Joe: that's what I said.
Lauren: [laughed] you sure its ok?
Kevin: I'm inviting you. Of course its ok.
Lauren: um. Ok cool.
Lauren went to ask her mom for permission. Her mom said it was ok. She thought it was a great idea for Lauren to go see New York and it was important to get to know the boys since she raised so much for the charity. Lauren met the boys and was ready to go. She began to walk to the front door when Joe stopped her.
Joe: woah there. Where are you going?
Lauren: um I thought we were gonna have dinner.
Joe: yeah but we have to be alive to do that. [Lauren seemed confused] we cant go out the front. We have to use back doors.
Lauren: oh.
Nick: its ok. We're still not used to it.
The boys began to go to the back door when big rob stood in front of them.
BR: I guess they figured it out. There's a mob out there.
Nick: oh man.
BR: just stay in between us [bodyguards] and you'll be fine.
Joe: ok.
The boys began to push their ways through the fans. Kevin began to walk but saw how scared and overwhelmed Lauren was. He grabbed her hand and helped her through the crowd. A shiver went up her arm and down her back when he did that. He helped her into the car and went in after her closing the door quickly.
Joe: whooo! Man I love that.
Nick: [rubbing his arm] I think that girl dislocated my shoulder.
Lauren let out a quiet giggle.
Nick: you're taking this whole thing pretty well. Most girls would just cry uncontrollably and I wouldn't know what to do.
Joe: yeah. The only other person I know that didn't do that was Nat when I first met her. [got sad] I miss her.
Nick: oh boy here we go...
Joe: [sighed really loud] I wonder what she's doing.
Nick: she's out at a frat party meeting buff college meatheads.
Joe: hush!
Nick: or a super smart boy who is gonna be a lawyer.
Joe: [put hands on ears] lalalalalalalala I'm not listening lalalalalalala
Nick: while you're here far far away!
Joe: oh yeah! Well I bet Sarah is out somewhere and is going to fall in love with a boy who doesn't have funny looking curly hair!
Nick: that hurt. We talked about you making fun of my hair.
Joe: yeah well you started it.
Kevin just sighed and was embarrassed by how his brothers were acting in front of Lauren.
Kevin: sorry. They're a little immature.
Lauren: [giggling] its ok. Its good to know you guys are normal.
Kevin: this is normal?
Lauren: yeah.
They got to the restaurant and all sat down and ordered. Joe and nick were still bickering at each other while Kevin decided to really get to know Lauren.
Kevin: so you're a southern girl right?
Lauren: how'd ya know.
Kevin: you have a little twang in your voice. [smiled and she blushed] what are you doing all the way over here in new york?
Lauren: my dad got a good job out here.
Kevin: you don't seem so excited.
Lauren: I just don't belong here. I'm a country girl by heart. The city is too busy for me.
Kevin: you'll get used to it.
Joe and nick went their separate ways to talk to their girlfriends on the phone.
Lauren: what's their deal?
Kevin: girlfriends.
Lauren: what about yours?
Kevin: oh I don't have one. I guess I'm not the favorite Jonas.
Lauren: why do you say that? [saw the hurt in his eyes]
Kevin: I dunno. I guess its always about those two. People always seem to skip me.
Lauren: well they don't know what their missing out on. [smiled at him]
