Over the past 50 years, Guangxi Teacher Education University, with the care and support of the Government as well as various circles of the society, has developed into a higher teacher education university with a large scale, sound foundation, rational majors and great potentiality.
The present university consists of two campuses ： one on Mingxiu Road and the other on Changgang Road. There are eight departments (faculties), five colleges, one secondary education department, three general teaching institutes, one training department for primary teachers and thirteen research institutes. It is the training base for headmasters and teachers of primary and middle schools of Guangxi, and the experimental base for remote education in Guangxi.
The University has been making positive efforts since 1980s to develop international exchange and cooperation in education, science and technology and culture. Up until now the University has established inter-university relationship with dozens of colleges and universities in countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Thailand, the USA, the UK, Viet Nam and so on
The University has set up a Center of Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language, beginning to enroll international students from such countries as Australia, Canada, Chili, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand, the USA, the UK, Viet Nam and so on since 1988. It has enrolled in recent years more than 1,000 international students learning Chinese language, Chinese History, Chinese Cultures and other subjects at different levels.
The University is appointed Beijing Language & Culture Institute, located in Mangga Dua Square, Jakarta as an Official Sole Recruitment of Indonesia students since 2007. A group of Indonesia students from Beijing Language & Culture Institute Indonesia start to study at Guangxi Teacher Education Univerity, Nanning, China since then.
Beijing Language & Culture Institute is the first well known Institute of Chinese Language in Indonesia.
Beijing Language & Culture Institute Indonesia do not only recruit students but also organize China International Education Fair each year, organize pre departure Briefing in Jakarta, open China bank account from Indonesia, accompany students to Nanning as well as visit students.

CHILE MINEDUC & FULBRIGHT CHILE ENGLISH SUMMER TOWN 2008 English Summer Town (EST) is a one week Total Immersion Program for English as a Foreign Language (More) English Summer Town (EST) is a one week Total Immersion Program for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in Chile. From January 6 to January 11, 2008, 96 EFL teachers came from all over Chile, from Arica in the North to Punta Arenas in the South, to participate in EST 2008. It was held at the Centro de Perfeccionamiento e Investigaci?n Pedagog?a (CPEIP). During the week the teachers spoke English 100% of the time. They attended EFL training in the mornings and cultural events in the afternoons and evenings. The teachers networked, made new friends, shared their best practices, and learned from EFL / ELT experts such as Thomas Baker and the visiting Fulbright Scholars. Talks were given by past Fulbright Scholars and the highlight was the opportunity to meet the new Ambassador to Chile, Ambassador Paul Simons.
