Her Uncle and guardian, Dr. Cedric Seward, runs a sanitorium, but has been unable to cure her. So, he has called in two experts to try to help heal his beloved Niece: noted psychologist Dr. Helga van Zandt and his old friend, Dr. Abraham van Helsing. Renfield is a "resident" of the sanitorium who often escapes from his cell. I'm not fully remembering if Jameson was Seward's butler, an employee of the sanitorium, or both. Either way, it seems he is held primarily responsible for ensuring Renfield's "security". In addition to Willie's current ailments, there have been a string of recent murders in the local village. In an earlier scene, Harker was attacked by a very large bat. Okay, that should be enough background to prep you for this scene. I don't think I need to tell you what happens to Helga, once this clip ends. My apologies to Harker, as he always seems to be entering Justin time to get cut out of my video clips. I don't feel too bad about this one, though, since he was included earlier...and since as soon as he walked in, Willie woke up in a horny delirium and jumped his bones.
Jameson was played by Michael O'Brien, another actor you may have recognized from his roles in Hamlet. Both he and Justin (and a few others from Hamlet) were from BGSU--UT's "rival" school--and the only time I got to hang out with them was during productions and at cast parties. In all of the character roles I saw him play, Michael did stellar work. He had a short monologue in this production (where Jameson was drinking) that was poignant and very believable, with some comedic moments. I would have loved to have seen him in a major role. I'm sure he probably had several of them at BG.
I can't remember the name of the young man who played Cedric. I feel terrible, because I think I remember that he was the one in the cast who I connected to the most as a Christian. Perhaps his name was John; that seems to ring a bell. I think he and another actor you'll meet later were the only other non-theater majors besides myself. Anyway, I felt like he did a stellar job playing an older gentleman of much learning and high breeding. He probably beat out a few actual "older gentlemen" who auditioned for the part. As he was a person who didn't spend most of his time in the Center for Performing Arts, we didn't hang out too much. I do remember enjoying our work together on this particular project.
I forgot to mention in my preview comments that the artwork for the opening slate was pulled from the publicity & program materials, which were designed by Michelle Hudson, who at the time was the business & promotions manager for the UT Theater Film & Dance Department. She's since moved on to open her own business, but I just thought I'd credit her, since her artwork was featured in the video.
If I ever find the program (I'm looking for it.), I will give more production credits. In my next comments, I will tell you more about Lino Stavole (the FX technician), but the only other person who I can think of to mention right now is Dr. Lee Heritage, UT Professor of Music (and currently the department Chair, I just moments ago found out! 8o), who composed the original score for this production.
Again, I apologize for the inferior sound and video quality. I tried to equalize out the hum as much as possible, but it is what it is. I bumped up the volume, in case you're REALLY interested in hearing some of the quieter lines. I probably could have improved the video quality by posting shorter segments, but I'm kind of being kind of lazy about that kind of stuff, these days. Sorry.
That's all for now.

ps--I just realized that at 11:08, Willie's wig has a wicked, wick-wick-wiggedy-wickedy-wick (Sorry, couldn't resist that MixMaster DJ Moment, there.) wick, i.e. cowlick, sticking up. DOH!
