A Complete History of Heavy Metal roots and sounds Part 2
I had watched several documentaries on Heavy Metal on VH1 and MTV and found that there was some info (More) I had watched several documentaries on Heavy Metal on VH1 and MTV and found that there was some info missing about it's history and roots so I put together a 2 part video of what I have found to be the TRUE history of Heavy Metal. I have loved a heavy sound since I was a kid and have been into Heavy Metal for 25 years. I Worked in a record store at the age of 15 and listened to as many records possible to finds as many Heavy songs as possible. Here is an explaination of what I found. Oh, a reader's note: Rikki Rackman from Headbanger's Ball is a POSER, he denounced Metal as a fad in the early 90s, and for historical perposes most haedbangers and metal heads never liked him back in the day and considered him a poser then. This will be a list of later roots of metal. Judas priest: any album except for Turbo Rush: any album from the 1st to Permenant Waves Scorpions: any album from the 70s (particularly with Uli Roth!) Rainbow: any with Dio on vocals Jethro Tull: Minstrel in the Gallery, Brusting Out UFO: you can find 3 songs on each album with MS on Guitar in the 70s Uriah Heep: Innocent Victim(free & Easy, The River(on the remaster CD) Gillan: any album! Not the Ian Gillan Band which was progessive, this band housed Janick Gers on guitar for 2 albums who is now with Iron Maiden, I highly recommend Mr. Universe! Mercyful Fate: any album! Motorhead:Any album! Venom:any album! Misfits: Really punk, but were a huge influence on Metal, Metallica use to hang out with them back in the day in my home town! Van Halen: I,II,Women&Children,Fair Warning Iron Maiden:Any album! Def Leppard:On through the night Black Sabbath:Heaven & Hell, Mob Rules, Born Again (a must!trust me!), Eternal Idol (influenced Alice in Chains), Headless Cross, Tyr, Dehumanizer Ozzy:Blizzard of Ozz,Diary of a Madman,Bark at the moon, No Rest for the Wicked, Ossmosis Man-O-War: Any Album! and they wore it on their sleeves through their whole career!!! Metallica:Kill 'em all, Ride the lightning, Master of Puppets, ...and Justice for all Suicidal Tendencies:Any album Motley Crue:Shout at the Devil Anthrax:Fistful of Metal, Spreading the Disease, Among the Living Megadeth: any album except the one they made during the label transaction in the mid 90s...they said they made it suck on purpose. Dio: any album! Helloween:The first 3 with Kai Hansen, I wouldn't recommend anything after, try some Gamma Ray(Kai's second band!) Pantera: any album! Vulgar Display is where they brought it up a notch though Nirvana: which was considered grunge but they were heros in a way, they were the knife in the heart of FAKE metal aka Glam, Hair, cock rock Sepultura:Any Album! Iced Earth: any album! They kept the traditional metal alive in the states back in the 90s! Blind Guardian: Any Album! Demons and Wizards: Any Album! Rhapsody:Any Album HammerFall:Great metal band that brought back the early 80s metal! I'll be adding more... (Less)
