In de jaren 70 had je The Osmonds en The Jackson Five en in de jaren 80 DeBarge, maar nu zijn de familiegroepen vrijwel verdwenen. Misschien wel omdat de genoemde familiegroepen vaak met ruzies en andere problemen uit elkaar zijn gespat. DeBarge is er ook zo een. Vooral bekend van Rhythm of the night, werden ze in de jaren 80 gebombardeerd als de Jackson Five van de 80s. Dat waren ze natuurlijk niet (niemand van hen kon dansen en zingen als de jonge Michael Jackson, laten we eerlijk zijn), waardoor de groep van broers en zus Randy, Mark, James, El en Bunny DeBarge al snel uit elkaar viel. El DeBarge probeerde het solo nog wel, en dat leek nog te lukken ook. Met de single Whos Johnny had hij in 1986 een top 3-hit, gevolgd door Love always, Real love en The secret garden. De laatste was een duet met Barry White. Priv bleef El ook in de picture, omdat hij een relatie zou hebben met Janet Jackson (pas jaren later zou blijken dat Janet al die tijd al stiekem getrouwd was met een ander). (Less)

About the video- It's a tribute to the French movie Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) and of course to Radiohead as well~ Amélie (played by Audrey Tautou) is a kind-hearted and introverted girl living in Paris. With a history of a lonely childhood and distant parents, she's living in a surreal and romantic world of her own. Driven by her will to secretly help others, she often forgets about herself and hides behind her charitable nature. But her life is about to change; she suddenly falls in love with a man named Nino after a sudden eye-contact in a subway station. Both sharing similar pasts and personalities, it's like they're meant to be together. Nino, however, doesn't know who Amélie is, and she can't get herself to tell him about her feelings. After picking up a collection of discarded photo booth pictures dropped by Nino, she begins to make contact with him little by little..
There's a lot more in this movie than what this video suggests. I wanted to focus on the story of Amélie and Nino~ I'm not going to explain everything with every detail but simply said it's about Amélie's journey as her imaginary fake world becomes reality, which is what the video's title is all about. This song seemed very appropriate for this concept and Amélie in general. And Radiohead is just awesome anyway =) There's a lot of details on this video and I can assure you that there's no clip that is just randomly put there~ And: SPOILER WARNING!
